All Characters Open!
This is a pretty big move, but I have been considering this decision recently and determined that it will be more beneficial to myself and other people in the long run.
As of today, I grant everybody unlimited access to all of my characters without any reservations.
This open authorization...
- ...applies to every one of my characters without exception.
- ...allows you to make pictures, stories, animations, games or any other form of art.
- ...allows you to create art that I personally may not like, including art designed to be offensive.
- ...gives permission to use my characters without crediting me.
- ...does not extend to my artwork. You still have to ask me for permission before uploading my work anywhere.
There is only one rule you must follow:
You may not claim ownership of my characters or try to prevent anyone else from using them.
Make sure that a character is mine before using them. Many of the characters you see in my gallery belong to other people.

Open access to all of my art
Hey guys, I'm done fighting to protect my art. It's time to add more freedoms to the list I started in this journal entry:

Freedoms
From now on, all of my art is available to be used anywhere for any purpose. This includes the following freedoms:
- You can post any of my sketches, colored pictures or comics anywhere on the internet.
- You can post screenshots and recordings of my interactive animations anywhere on the internet
- You can post the interactive animations themselves anywhere on the internet, including animations that are no longer available on my page (if you find them).
My works have never been submitted to any automatic copyright tools, such as Youtube's Content ID takedown system, so you should not have problems posting my work anywhere. If you get any copyright complaints from someone, link back to this journal.
Additional Notes
First, I'd appreciate it if you linked back to my page if you plan to put my art anywhere on the internet. You know, I used to be popular back in the day, but since Flash stopped being a thing on the internet, my audience is less than a third of what it was a few years ago. I wouldn't mind getting a few new viewers.
Let it be clear that this is a purely selfish request. I should remind you that I don't care about my viewers. I have never made this a secret. I asked for nothing from them and expect nothing in return. Feel free to take my art and not link back to me if this bothers you.
Second, although I'm giving free access to my artwork now, I won't apologize for claiming any content in the past. When you take someone's artwork without permission and without proper fair use, you are disrespecting them as content creators.

Disclaimer
This is not a legal document. This license may resemble a legal document but is not written in legalese and will probably not hold up in a court of law. However, I reserve the right to pursue legal action if I believe the license has been violated. I'm just trying to give as many freedoms to my viewers as possible without giving up my ability to prevent use of my works in ways that I consider highly unethical.
This document has no loopholes. If the exact wording of this license can be interpreted in a way that allows a use of my work that I did not intend to allow, my interpretation of the license supersedes any other possible interpretation. Essentially, this is not a fair license. Don't try to cheat through technicalities.
This license may be updated. I may choose to update this license over time without any warning or announcement. If I update the license, the original wording will be preserved for historical purposes and the new wording will be added as an update at the end of this page.
Definitions
- Doom the Wolf
I am Doom the Wolf on Deviantart. For the purposes of this license, "Doom the Wolf" and my Deviantart page are the entirety of my identity. In the case of a real legal dispute, I will use my real name and identity. You can find the my Deviantart page at this URL:

This is a license designed to specify when and how you can use my characters, artwork and any other creations of mine. If my website still exists, the license can be found at the URL:

"Works" refers to the collection of unique files or data I have created and posted publicly on my Deviantart page, my website or my Discord server. My works also include files I sent to individual people, but did not post publicly. These works can be in any format, including but not limited to images, text, Flash content, 3D models, interactive SVG files or web pages.
The definition of "works" does not include things like comments I wrote on Deviantart or conversations I had on Discord.
- Characters
A character is a fictional sentient being with specific design attributes that make them visually unique. This includes the ones that lack names or personalities. My character database is not a comprehensive list of every character I have ever created.
Characters are different from works in that they are not strictly tied to a specific file or data sequence. Instead, they can be reasonably identified in many different works.
Old Licenses
The old licenses seen above apply to all works and characters I created before the date this license was first published: The 29th of July, 2023.
For all works and characters created on the date this license was published or later, the old licenses no longer apply and this license applies instead. If you can't determine the creation date of a work, it is covered under this license and not the old ones.
All of the pages, Javascript, JSON, CSS and HTML files on my website (doom-the-wolf.com) are covered under this license and not the old ones, regardless of when the files were created.
Using my Characters
You, an individual person, are allowed to directly use my characters in any way you want to. You can create stories, pictures, animations, video games or any other type of media representing my characters, even if I don't like your representation.
You are allowed to freely distribute or even sell any media you created using my characters, without the need to credit me in your works. If you do that, the recipients of your media are also subject to the same license you are.
You cannot claim that you own or created my characters, and cannot forbid anyone else from using my characters.
You cannot use my characters in any media directly linked with blockchain technologies. You may not sell or distribute any depiction of my characters as NFTs or buy and sell media depicting my characters using cryptocurrencies.
Corporations and organizations cannot use my characters under this license. Instead, their representatives will have to contact me directly to obtain a specific license for my characters. In the case that I decline to give a specific license, my characters will not be available for use of any kind.
Using my Works
You, an individual person, are allowed to distribute my works, modified or unmodified, to any person or group of people you want to. You can host the works on any web server or social media platform you want.
You do not have to credit me for any of my works when you distribute them, but you cannot claim ownership of my works or forbid anyone else from using them. Depending on the nature and magnitude of the modification, you may be allowed to claim some ownership of a work you have modified and forbid other people from redistributing it.
You are not allowed to use any of my works in datasets designed to be used by computer programs, except for the purpose of distributing the works to other people as described earlier. This restriction applies to neural networks like Stable Diffusion and GPT, but does not restrict Google or Bing search engines.
You are not allowed to distribute my works on any platform or service built on or integrated with blockchain technologies. You may not sell or distribute any of my works as NFTs or buy and sell my works using cryptocurrencies.
